New blog button and Sponsor Swap!

I can't believe it's been around 2 1/2 months since I first started blogging and man has it gone fast. It's amazing how much Keep Calm... has grown and how much I've learned from all my fellow bloggers. I've most recently learned the wonders of buttons!

Well here she is folks, my first blog button!

Keep Calm and Wear Pearls

Isn't she a beaut?

I also have never had any sponsors before and am now willing to dive into that world as well. I am looking for bloggers to become my blogs first ever group of sponsors. FREE publicity on my blog! What can get better than that? Just e-mail me at keepcalmandwearpearls {at} gmail {dot} com and let me know you've added my button and I'll do the same!

Just a funny side note: my friends always make fun of me because I pronounce button wrong. I say buddon, not button. Must be the New Yorker in me.

Bad Luck

This weekend I had terrible luck with any form of technology.

First Friday afternoon I lost internet connection, which I still do not have back in my dorm. I can only connect other places on campus. Bummer, I know. However, my Ipad is connecting to the internet just fine. Since I couldn't watch Desperate Housewives on my internetless laptop I decided to download the Netflix app on my iPad. But guess who's never updated her iPad and still has IOS 4? If you guessed me you'd be correct. And guess what app needs IOS 5? If you guessed Netflix, you're correct again. And guess what you can't update your iPad without...that's right, internet.  So now I'm without a computer and without Netflix.

Then on Saturday I decided to rent some movies from Redbox since Netflix wasn't going to entertain me this weekend. I rented What to Expect When You're Expecting, Friends With Kids, and Joyful Noise. What to Expect and Joyful Noise were great!  I loved them. However, Friends with Kids was just terrible and awkward. I actually fell asleep during the middle of it.

Just as I finished Joyful Noise I went to eject it out of my laptop and what happens ...its gets stuck. Its making weird noises and refuses to come out. Now I'm freaking out. After endless trying I decided to just leave it and come back to it in a few hours. Luckily, when I tried again later it still made the weird noises but eventually came out without a scratch on it.

Lets just say me and technology did not get along at all this weekend. And I didn't even mention the phone problems I had this weekend. Only 14 more days until I get that iPhone, thank goodness!

Do you have an technology horror stories?

All in the Family

Hello everyone! I've missed you all while I took my blogging break to focus on midterms. Well good news, midterms are over and I'm officially back!

Last weekend I went home for Columbus Day and for my sisters' birthday. One turned 19 and the other turned 16. I really can't believe my baby sister is now old enough to drive. Where has the time gone?!

While I was home we got our family portrait taken for the first time in 10 years! I'm so glad we finally got them done. Check out how they turned out!

Me, Myself, and I

This is my first Me, Myself, and I link-up and I am so excited to finally be a part of this monthly link-up!

What is your favorite season? Explain.
I absolutely love spring! After being in the long winter slump there's nothing like the feeling you get from seeing flowers bloom and being able to take your jacket off. The sunshine and warmth gives me such a happy feeling. I know that school's almost out and summer break is right around the corner!

I took this photo last spring when the flowers on my campus started blooming.

Talk about a moment that changed your life?
I know college is always something that changes people's lives. I really became a totally different person when I went to college. I grew up and stopped being a selfish teen. I became more pleasant around my family and didn't fight with my parents nearly as much as I did in high school. It's ironic that it took my moving away from me family to become closer to them. Not to mention I also lost 25 lbs my sophomore year and completely changed my lifestyle.

If you could be any Crayola crayon color, what would you be why?
I know its boring but I'd probably be navy blue. I dress pretty plainly, I don't wear bright colors. I like to stick to my neutrals. I also am very nautical so navy blue is always appropriate.

Describe yourself as a superhero: Superpower? Name? Sidekick?
I'd love to be able to go back in time! Even just 5 minutes to unsay something embarrassing I didn't mean to say. I'm not too sure what my name would be or who my sidekick would be.

If you had all the money in the world and could only shop at 3 stores, where would you shop?
Well Target would most definitely be at the top of my list! They have everything and anything I could need from food to furniture to clothes. I'd also probably have Marshalls and Ralph Lauren on my list.

Rosie the Riveter

This past week I've realized that I very rarely share any of my photography with you all!
What a shame! From now on I'm going to make more of an effort to post some of my photos on here so you all can see!

Here are some photos from a fun summer shoot with my friend! One of the best parts of living on Long Island is having these gorgeous beaches at our disposal. Aren't they just the best?

Current Crush: Iphone Cases

Finally in one month from today my contract will be up and I'll be able to trade in my terrible blackberry for a Iphone :) I'm so excited to be able to use my phone and join the Instagram world! It feels like I'm the only one left in the country without and Iphone.

I love that Iphones have such pretty cases! I have no idea how I'm going to decide which to get but here's whats caught my eye.

Weekend Update!

I know its already mid week but I just got around to writing up this post today. I had such a great time this past weekend! It was family weekend at my school so my parent's came up for after watching my match on Long Island on Saturday. My team won our match 6-3 and my friend and I fought for a great win in our doubles match. We are now 6-0! On top of our great win all of my family came out to support me. It made my day to see them all there.

After my match my parents and I made the long trip back to my school and saw a very funny comedian. His jokes were great and weren't the cliche perv jokes most comedians use; his jokes were funny things about everyday life that the anyone can relate to.

On Sunday we went on a brunch boat cruise on the Hudson River. The view was gorgeous but silly me didn't even think of bringing my camera. Guess I'll have to wait until next year to snap some pretty Hudson River photos. After we went to Marshalls and I bought a new fall jacket that was desperately needed.

I always love spending time with my family and I can't wait to see them again this weekend when we celebrate both of my sisters' birthdays!

My fan club and me after my tennis match! So grateful they all came to cheer me on!

My niece and me at my tennis match. Isn't she just the cutest?!

I'm looking forward to another great weekend this week!
